Speaker C – [07:26 – 07:48]
I, uh, honestly, I think I do too. Yeah. But But I I just wasn’t I I don’t think I was expecting you to be so open about, um, human versus human. Like Yeah. Um, usually, people have a very, uh, A strong opinion about it. But Yeah. Anyway, we’re just here for the soup, so it doesn’t really matter how you say it.
Speaker B – [07:48 – 07:54]
Yeah. And the soup is here for us Because it brings us this show It is. As it were.
Speaker C – [07:54 – 07:54]

Speaker B – [08:31 – 08:31]
Okay.
Speaker C – [08:31 – 08:34]
That’s not true. There’s a line, but I’m not gonna tell you where it is.
Speaker B – [08:34 – 08:38]
Oh, please tell us where it is. I mean, you opened it up. We gotta know now.
Speaker C – [08:38 – 08:41]
Well, it’s farther than you’d think, but sooner than you’d want.
Speaker B – [08:41 – 08:48]
Farther than you think and sooner than you want. So we’re talking distance and time.
Speaker C – [08:48 – 08:53]
Mhmm. Okay. Yeah. That’s where the line is. Alright. Well You should you’ll know.
Speaker B – [08:53 – 08:59]
You’ll know based on the expression. No. I will not do that work for you.
Speaker C – [08:59 – 09:04]
Exactly. Yeah. No. I’m sorry. I’m unavailable for that.
Speaker B – [09:04 – 09:08]
Okay. I like that. That’s actually a very nice Nice way to put it.
Speaker C – [09:08 – 09:10]
Yes. Well, how was your week?
Speaker B – [09:10 – 09:51]
Uh, my week was a week. Yeah. It was a week. Yeah. One of those where you’re just like, oh, it was a week, wasn’t it? Yeah. Yep. So, um, but I I’ve had fun, uh, doing a little bit of improv. Improv is like a nice reprieve during the week. We did a show right before this We did. Under as well, uh, but in a different looking room. Podcast audience, if you are listening to the show, we are in a immersive, uh, digital studio with a lot of orange involved Lovely lovely orange wallpaper.
Speaker C – [09:51 – 10:01]
Mhmm. Yeah. Um, really, you you can’t find this on the HDTV channel. We absolutely could not. They would kill you. Because it’s too nice.
Speaker B – [10:01 – 10:07]
That’s one way to put it. Yeah. Uh, and there were no air quotes around that nice when Katrina said it.
Speaker C – [10:07 – 10:08]
There were none.
Speaker B – [10:08 – 10:22]
None whatsoever. But our, uh, yeah, we Highwire hosted us, and we went and did a, um, a set on Highwire of Actual improv, not the show specifically, but the two of them are the same.
Speaker C – [10:22 – 10:30]
And thank you to J Spam for, uh, inviting us because we had Quite a fun time. They had a great show too. So Yeah. Yeah. Thank you. Fun.
Speaker B – [10:30 – 10:45]
A lot of fun. Uh, so we will we’ll put a we’ll put a link to that in the show notes Because this, again, is this is abbreviated show a little bit tonight. We’re just testing to see if, uh, things are working. Still Twitch is still calling us unstable.
Speaker C – [10:45 – 10:49]
You know, at this point, I take it as a compliment and leave it at that.
Speaker B – [10:49 – 11:01]
Yeah. I do too. You know, it leaves My instability makes life more interesting, perhaps improv a little bit more interesting as a result as well. Truly. Katrina begs to differ.
Speaker C – [11:01 – 11:03]
Do I?
Speaker B – [11:03 – 11:04]
I think so.
Speaker C – [11:04 – 11:07]
Oh, well, then here I am differing.
Speaker B – [11:07 – 11:07]
Okay.
Speaker C – [11:07 – 11:16]
Well, should we Should we roll some we roll an ad ad ad We have an ad because some someone didn’t do their homework.
Speaker B – [11:16 – 11:24]
Someone didn’t, and then someone else did a very short test ad, uh, because someone else had a week.
Speaker C – [11:24 – 11:32]
So Yes. So I I I just, uh, I fulfilled all of my fourth grade prophecies, and I didn’t do my homework.
Speaker B – [11:32 – 11:37]
Uh, well, I barely get my stomach. So let’s let’s we’ll roll that out, I guess.
Speaker C – [11:37 – 11:39]
Sounds good. Okay.
Speaker D – [11:39 – 12:01]
Are you tired of talking to your imaginary friends? Is your partner Or your roommate’s sick of hearing you rant? Try online improv for lonely fox Today. Improv for lonely fucks. Any online improv anywhere. Results vary, but you won’t be lonely because now people have to talk to you.
Speaker B – [12:01 – 12:16]
And that’s it. I got her.
Speaker C – [12:16 – 12:28]
Oh my god. I’d I wish we have one of those, like, uh, there’s an issue cutaway Typed up graphics, but we still haven’t made that yet.
Speaker B – [12:28 – 12:29]
We haven’t made that yet.
Speaker C – [12:29 – 12:31]
That’s some of the works.
Speaker B – [12:31 – 12:42]
For our, um, podcast audience, There was a, uh, Terry Gilliam, like, style, uh, animation involved.
Speaker C – [12:42 – 13:03]
Yeah. Uh, it was incredible, and, uh, you’ll need to go find that on the Internet when you get a chance because, my god, That was fantastic. Thank you. Yes. So worth it. I’m so glad I didn’t make an ad this week because Then I’d have to live up to that.
Speaker B – [13:03 – 13:09]
Well, I don’t know. That was a a bit of a test. A little bit of a test. We’ll See where we can take those matters.
Speaker C – [13:09 – 13:11]
Kind of all the show is?
Speaker B – [13:11 – 13:14]
The show is pretty much a great big test show.
Speaker C – [13:14 – 13:15]
A test.
Speaker B – [13:15 – 13:18]
Yeah. The test of, um, the limits patience.
Speaker C – [13:18 – 13:22]
The patience. Patience of watching us. Wow.
Speaker B – [13:22 – 13:39]
Yes. Well, we’ll get some other people on here. We have some people interested in coming and guesting on the show, which is great because that’s our next tech test, Uh, to see how that’s gonna work adding a third person into this environment, which Yes. I’m looking forward to doing.
Speaker C – [13:39 – 13:53]
We’re we’re just trying to make it nice enough So that when you come here, it won’t be scary. That’s the only reason we haven’t had guests yet is because we’re we’re Unstable? We’re unstable.
Speaker B – [13:53 – 14:10]
We’re unstable. Alright. Well, we have soup Here and now we’re going to, uh, go on to whatever I have in the slides, which, uh, would have been great for me to check that. Alright. So From the Internet. For as seen on the Internet.
Speaker A – [14:10 – 14:14]
As seen on the Internet.
Speaker B – [14:14 – 14:38]
Our segment has seen on the Internet, and the first thing that we have on the Screen is, uh, Zukes with a quote, and this is, uh, from I believe improv asylum made this meme, Uh, quote, uh, eighty percent of improv is owning the stage, which is an interesting quote.
Speaker C – [14:38 – 14:41]
Can you take out a loan?
Speaker B – [14:41 – 14:49]
That is a good question. I guess it Depends how expensive the stage is.
Speaker C – [14:49 – 14:55]
Okay. Because I typically can’t own things, but I can take on more debt, the bank has said. Nice.
Speaker B – [14:55 – 15:02]
Alright. Well, that’s a good ownership and a very literal take, which I do appreciate as well.
Speaker D – [15:02 – 15:02]
Oh, okay.
Speaker B – [15:02 – 15:03]
Yes. Okay.
Speaker C – [15:03 – 15:06]
Oh, this isn’t literal. This is just like a like, own the stage.
Speaker B – [15:06 – 16:01]
They own it. Own it. Yeah. Yeah. And it’s interesting because the first comment For from this meme is, um, of course, sharing the stage. We should share the stage. Um, But I have a little bit of a different take on this quote than that, which was is I think eighty percent of improv owning the stage, Quote, could very well mean committing hard. That’s sort of the way that I took it. Instead is just owning yourself On the stage. Um, and I don’t know if that’s because my background is, uh, dance fitness, and I was the only person on the stage because I was only person there. And so owning the stage for me was just committing really hard, not stopping, not giving up. And so that was sort of my immediate first take of this what this quote might mean. What are your thoughts?
Speaker C – [16:01 – 16:43]
I like that A lot more than having to take out a loan for it. Um, so I will say that. I agree, though. I think if, uh, like, if I wasn’t gonna take this Quote, incredibly literally, I would take it as, like, just having that confidence and kind of holding that confidence. Because a lot of comedy is, like, the audience doesn’t know where you’re going with things. And, like, as long as you’re confident, they’re calm, and they know, that you’re they’re in good hands, essentially. So it’s like it’s like keeping the, um, like, owning the stage with Essentially being, like, taking responsibility for where the show is gonna go and having that confidence of, like, knowing that you have it.
Speaker B – [16:43 – 16:44]
Yeah.
Speaker C – [16:44 – 16:49]
So Yeah. A little bit of, like, a, Like a chicken and the egg thing maybe?
Speaker B – [16:49 – 17:13]
Mhmm. But And also if everybody on the team has that confidence that they are bringing What their thing is to the stage, and I can feel that from you. There we’re we’re bringing different things because we all have these Different brains in our heads. Right? And we’re all gonna bring different things to the stage. And if we all have that confidence and we’re all owning ourselves, That’s good for a team.
Speaker C – [17:13 – 17:37]
Yeah. Absolutely. And I think I wonder what the other twenty percent is. Is the other twenty percent kind of, like, Giving your team members less space to own it also or kind of, like, something in that realm of Um, kind of, um, yeah, kind of just allowing other people to express their, um, their talents and And own the stage where they own it kind of thing.
Speaker B – [17:37 – 17:39]
Or the other twenty percent is puns.
Speaker C – [17:39 – 17:42]
I love that.
Speaker B – [17:42 – 17:46]
I knew you would love that. I I love that. See, that was me giving to you.
Speaker C – [17:46 – 17:47]
Thank you.
Speaker B – [17:47 – 17:49]
That was me sharing the stage.
Speaker C – [17:49 – 18:02]
That was you owning the stage. See, uh, perfect. A plus. Jen owns the stage perfectly and gives me twenty percent to do puns. That’s all I’ve asked for. That’s at once.
Speaker B – [18:02 – 18:11]
Next slide. Word of the week. Why do we have a word of the week, Katrina?
Speaker C – [18:11 – 18:25]
Well, we have a word of the week, Jen, because we like to use new words and scenes. It it it it’s like, uh, adding a little bit of flare to To something. Also, I love this word. It’s one of my favorite words. Oh, good. I’m glad.
Speaker B – [18:25 – 18:26]
I’m very glad.
Speaker C – [18:26 – 18:30]
I love anything that Can fit in both lolly and gag.
Speaker B – [18:30 – 19:00]
Yeah. Uh, they’re individually good words. So I guess we should Tell our podcast listeners who can’t see the screen, the word of the week is lollygag, which is Find a spend your time aimlessly being idle, dawdle along, waste time. There can also be words lollygagged, lollygagging, also lollygags, Which was a new one to me that I learned about.
Speaker C – [19:00 – 19:10]
Like, in in the lollygags, as in, like, I am currently loggygagging or, like, in the I’m in the action of lollygagging.
Speaker B – [19:10 – 19:14]
So I I mispronounced that, and I apologize.
Speaker C – [19:14 – 19:18]
Oh. Lallygags. Oh, lallygags. Yeah.
Speaker B – [19:18 – 19:23]
L a l l y g a g s, which I have not heard before.
Speaker C – [19:23 – 19:34]
I don’t like that one as much. I don’t either. Lally. Lally. Lally. Lally gags. Lally gags. That, like, she had just the whole meaning. You’re lally gagging, not lollygagging.
Speaker B – [19:34 – 19:47]
But it apparently has the same meaning, at least on the I I did follow-up on another couple subsequent pages on lollygags, And, uh, apparently, it just means lollygag. It’s just another version of the word.
Speaker C – [19:47 – 19:52]
Fascinating. Well Yeah. I disagree.
Speaker B – [19:52 – 19:58]
Yeah. I disagree too. I am going to strike that word from my Vocabulary.
Speaker C – [19:58 – 20:05]
But change my mind. If you have a good case for lollygagging, let me know. I open to change.
Speaker B – [20:05 – 20:09]
Yeah. Maybe it’s just something my ears have to hear a little bit more before it accepts it.
Speaker C – [20:09 – 20:10]
Well, I know.
Speaker B – [20:10 – 20:18]
Yeah. But I love this word. It’s a word that I grew up with. Apparently, it is a rare word, so I thought, well, I’ll add it as word of the week.
Speaker C – [20:18 – 20:21]
I don’t know. I I lollygag, like, every single day.
Speaker B – [20:21 – 20:23]
So Yeah. Me too.
Speaker C – [20:23 – 20:26]
I I really appreciate that you chose this word of the week.
Speaker B – [20:26 – 21:08]
Okay. I’m glad. Well, next slide. What do we got next? Seen sprinkles From anywhere. Right. So for any of you who aren’t aware, this segment here is encouraging Everyone to go out and learn something new during the week. You can learn that from anywhere, from books, from the Internet as well, Uh, from going out into the world and doing things or watching things in your house, There are so many places to pick up new information and then take that information and add it to your scenes as details and specifics. It’s a good thing to do.
Speaker C – [21:08 – 21:14]
It is a good thing to do. Yeah. Absolutely. Yeah. Um, I’m I’ll I’ll wait to see what you picked First.
Speaker B – [21:14 – 22:53]
Alright. Well, TikTok was my source of the week. And I came across this TikTok in which someone had learned that they discontinued the dandelion color of Crayola crayon in two thousand and seventeen. And that person is collecting all of the dandelion crayons that they can find. And This introduced me to the concept of crayon talk or crayon TikTok. I I added the image, um, for the our our audio listeners. The search periwinkle crayon was the top Search that comes up in the TikTok comment section, which is, like, kind of leads you to potentially another area of learning. That is a ruse. There’s nothing going on with the periwinkle crayon that I could find, but it did lead me To crayon TikTok. Apparently, there’s a crayon TikTok, which was the other thing I learned that there are people that just go out And collect crayons, old crayons, like, from thrift stores and which seems like a quite environmental thing to do perhaps because it’s not going to waste. But, apparently, people collect certain colors of crayons and crayons in general and have Very strong opinions about the various crayon brands and types and eras. This is People have very, very strong opinions.
Speaker C – [22:53 – 23:12]
That’s what I learned. I I did see that periwinkle one, the the video, And I didn’t follow any of the comments anywhere, um, but I was very afraid when it said don’t Search periwinkle. I was afraid it was gonna be something weird because I’ve fallen down some of those rabbit holes, and every time there’s something weird.
Speaker B – [23:12 – 23:13]
Really weird.
Speaker C – [23:13 – 23:15]
So I’m glad it wasn’t something weird.
Speaker B – [23:15 – 23:22]
Yeah. I know. I was very I was apprehensive as well. I’m also interested that you are also on the crayon side of TikTok.
Speaker C – [23:22 – 24:01]
Mhmm. I know. Well, I haven’t I haven’t made it quite as deeply, but now I’m curious, and I will. I I don’t know. Uh, I don’t have my own share, but I do have my own share. So if we’re done with crayons, I can share that. But Yes. Please. Please. Okay. Um, well, I did learn on TikTok this week, um, because I was up until six AM one night because I just couldn’t sleep. And by six AM, I had completely convinced myself that learning how to make egg bites to, like, put in the freezer and then have on hand was going to save my life and change it and, like, solve all my problems. So I was up until six AM on TikTok looking at egg bite recipes.
Speaker B – [24:01 – 24:08]
Egg bite recipes. Can you can you tell us what that is about? I don’t know what an egg bite res So an egg bite.
Speaker C – [24:08 – 24:22]
Egg bite. So it’s basically like, um, you are vegan, so you would use something like, uh, an a egg substitute. Um, but, basically, you put eggs in a muffin tin with some vegetables, And then you bake it. So it’s like a little mini quiche maybe.
Speaker D – [24:22 – 24:23]
Yeah.
Speaker C – [24:23 – 24:48]
But then you can freeze them and microwave them for, like, twenty seconds. I haven’t tried yet. So I don’t have this twenty seconds. You might have to, like, work on it. But I put, um, red peppers, green peppers, and mushroom in it, and also with a little bit of spinach. So I made twelve egg bites in this muffin tin, and they actually turned out pretty good. Except since I had had so little sleep, I forgot to put salt or pepper on them, so they are a little bland.
Speaker B – [24:48 – 24:51]
Well, you can add that post, I believe.
Speaker C – [24:51 – 24:54]
Yeah. Yeah. Well, I just Smother them a ketchup in hot sauce.
Speaker B – [24:54 – 24:58]
Oh, I would do that as well. Do you add would you add cumin?
Speaker C – [24:58 – 25:02]
Oh, you know what? Next time, I might add cumin. Nice. Yeah.
Speaker B – [25:02 – 25:10]
Well, I should try that. I use just egg, which is Yeah. Just egg. Which is a very good substitute. I would probably try that.
Speaker C – [25:10 – 25:14]
Yeah. Yeah. That would probably be good. Is what is just egg?
Speaker B – [25:14 – 25:29]
It is, um, well, you can make it with, Well, Pacofaba, there’s ways to make it, I think, with chickpea based, um, mixes or something like that. I’m not too sure actually what it’s Made out of Alright.
Speaker C – [25:29 – 25:33]
Maybe some I was just wondering. Sorry. Sorry to quiz you out of food.
Speaker B – [25:33 – 25:37]
Well, this is improv, I guess. I guess.
Speaker C – [25:37 – 25:40]
I don’t think Make it up. Let’s just eggs. Yeah.
Speaker B – [25:40 – 25:45]
Let’s just make up a recipe, and then we’ll have very Disappointed people. Yeah.
Speaker C – [25:45 – 25:51]
It’s it’s what comes out of those little colored Easter eggs before they put candy in them. They have to crack them all, and it’s just egg.
Speaker B – [25:51 – 25:55]
It feels like a pun somehow.
Speaker C – [25:55 – 26:02]
I can’t find one.
Speaker B – [26:02 – 26:05]
Okay. Alright. Well, next time.
Speaker C – [26:05 – 26:08]
Okay. Lowering it.
Speaker B – [26:08 – 26:42]
Next slide is submitting to Wienis, w n I s. Uh, our URL is w e e n dot I s, Or you can find us on social media at at w n improv show. You can do that.
